On February 3rd, 2011 TELEHOUSE hosted an exclusive launch party right inside their state of the art 85 10th Avenue facility. As a primary colocation provider in the United States, we are proud to debut a third data center in New York. Customers and friends gathered on the 7th floor for an evening of celebration over drinks and hors d'oeuvres. The party provided the perfect opportunity to catch up with friends, partners and customers, while enjoying personal facility tours of TELEHOUSE Chelsea. Our ribbon cutting ceremony was the highlight of the evening with Hiroshi Iwamoto, Executive Vice President and Chief Technical Officer, and comments from Fred Cannone, Sales and Marketing Director. Mr. Iwamoto delivered an introductory speech about the 60,000 square foot space before announcing the official opening at 6pm. He said “We wanted to gather together all our friends to show them that TELEHOUSE is not only expanding globally, but also here, on American soil. This new data center really meets the demand in Manhattan for connected, affordable colocation space by being a secure, state-of-the-art facility providing one of the best data center spaces in New York.” Over 100 guests enjoyed the celebrations and extensive tours given by our knowledgeable Operations and Engineering teams. With our first clients already sold, and the NYIIX peering expansion installed this month (February 2011), TELEHOUSE Chelsea is already on its way to becoming a primary industry destination. NYIIX Expands into TELEHOUSE New York ChelseaFebruary 2011TELEHOUSE’s long standing New York International Internet Exchange (NYIIX) has expanded into their newest data center, TELEHOUSE New York Chelsea in New York City. It contains over 135 active members, and offers the Internet community neutral and scalable infrastructure across a 10Gigabit Ethernet platform. Enjoying the Sun at Telecom One-on-OneFebruary 2011With snow covering nearly every inch of the US, many top telecom executives escaped the winter storms and participated in Jaymie Scotto and Associates’ first Telecom One-on-One. TELEHOUSE proudly sponsored the business to business networking event on February 1 in beautiful Miami Beach, Florida. Over 90 registered attendees , eight on-site video interviews and nine participating media organizations, gathered together to meet and conduct business. TELEHOUSE has a long standing relationship with JS&A and we were proud to be involved in one of their prestigious events. Carriers, services providers and telecom specialists were on hand to discuss key trends and growth throughout 2011. As a primary sponsor, TELEHOUSE provided branded lanyards for all attendees as well as literature on our new TELEHOUSE facility in the Chelsea district of Manhattan. TELEHOUSE London receives Carbon Trust Award!February 2011Fantastic news for TELEHOUSE London! On February 2nd, 2011 they announced receiving the Carbon Trust Award. This certification was bestowed upon them after reducing carbon emissions by a staggering 12%! Their incredible accomplishment was discovered after a rigorous, independent assessment over a 12 month period. Congratulations to our European colleagues for such a positive environmental achievement! TELEHOUSE now joins 500 other notable organizations in their quest to cut down on carbon emissions and sustain a safe and unpolluted environment. Some of the actions taken by TELEHOUSE London include replacing air conditioning units and turning lights off in technical buildings when they aren’t necessary. These small adjustments contributed to an annual savings of up to £30,000! Reducing energy consumption has become a main focus for TELEHOUSE. Last year, TELEHOUSE West opened in the prestigious Docklands region of London with these carbon reducing initiatives introduced as soon as the doors opened. This is a huge leap forward for TELEHOUSE and our 40 locations around the globe.
