TELEHOUSE Continues Peering Webinar Series

July 2011

Recently, TELEHOUSE experienced an influx of inquires about our peering service. As a response to all of the interesting and insightful questions we created an educational webinar series which describes peering, its benefits, and how to get the most out being a member on a peering exchange. On Thursday, July 21nd, TELEHOUSE hosted the second webinar in its Peering Series. Building upon the first peering webinar held in April, Peering 102 provided deeper insight into the complex world of Peering. Differing from the first, simplified webinar, TELEHOUSE presented this innovative topic by focusing on the key technical aspects.

Featured speaker, Fred Cannone, Director of Sales, discussed with attendees how to connect to Peering Exchanges, maximize and share traffic, along with equipment, software and routing services for their considerations.

So what exactly is peering? Peering is simply the settlement free exchange of Internet traffic between two entities. Simply put - it is a cost effective and efficient way to gain access to the full 'exchanged' routes and IP addresses.

Are you considering Peering?

Peering has multiple benefits for companies of all sizes and from all verticals. This includes: Increased network reliability, Improved connectivity, Decreased costs - exchange traffic directly and avoid paid bandwidth connections, Lower latency across network routes, and Increased network diversity via access to multiple routing options

Not just for ISP's

Peering is not just for Internet Service Providers and large enterprise companies anymore. Even small to medium size businesses can access the mainstream Internet traffic, as well as niche, regional traffic too. All it takes is an interconnection of equipment and networks, routing protocols and an agreement to set the traffic in motion.

TELEHOUSE Helps You 'Grow' With Colocation

July 2011

For over 20 years,TELEHOUSE has been providing quality colocation space to business of all sizes. TELEHOUSE continues to adapt to new trends as internal and external demands for IT services keep on rapidly expanding, even in today's tricky economy. With this, enterprises are faced with the issue of data centers that are no longer capable of meeting their growing IT needs. It becomes necessary for the enterprise to establish a secondary site in order to provide enhanced business continuity or regional network support.

Well, before you continue on that thought, stop right there. This is where the benefits of colocation steps in. Differing from traditional hosting, colocation customers own their own servers, routers and other hardware. Colocating - with the right provider - is a less expensive, more practical alternative to owning data center space.

Total data center space used by enterprises is expected to increase by almost 15% annually through 2013, according to a Frost & Sullivan study conducted a year ago. The study also cites that that space of which enterprises own themselves versus leasing from a provider will decrease from 70% to 64%.
