BREAKFAST ON BROADWAY Seminars Focus on the Impact of Government Regulations on IT Systems |

A Positive Response Gets the 2005 Monthly Schedule Off to Great Start
TELEHOUSE America held its first two BREAKFAST ON BROADWAY seminars for 2005 in January and February. The themes were the myriad of government regulations facing the financial services industry, how those regulations affect data systems and security, and the steps IT executives need to take on the enterprise level. Since it frequently leads the way in IT advancements that influence other industries, the focus was on financial sector.
The attendees responded to the subject matter presented by the monthly co-hosts with a spirited discussion of the topics. The January seminar produced a solid turnout that braved snow and cold to hear executives from co-hosts S-doc and TAMP DRS talk about government regulations' impact on financial services and the enterprise. February's seminar continued the regulatory theme with a discussion of what IT departments need to implement to achieve the levels of corporate compliance that will pass regulatory audits and provide processes that maintain the consistent compliance levels mandated by regulations. Bayshore Networks LLC and eDELTA Consulting handled the co-hosting duties.
As for the BREAKFAST ON BROADWAY seminar series itself, TELEHOUSE launched the monthly complimentary morning seminars last November to create a forum that addresses topical industry issues in an informal, non-sales pitch environment.
The co-hosts bring business expertise that is relevant to each month's topic. Their presentations serve as a catalyst that precipitates out-of-the-box thinking, and an enlightened discussion of issues and new approaches between speakers and attendees, presenting a genuine value-add for all. TELEHOUSE provides the seminars' underlying support by contributing its BROADWAY Center facility at 25 Broadway to hold the monthly gathering. The seminars normally are from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM.
Previous topics covered the economics of global competition between SMBs and huge corporations, and the storage and management of high volume content and its delivery to a large customer universe. ADVA Optical, Visual Data (now On-Stream Media), RLX Technologies, and Internap Network Services were past co-hosts.
