WWDark Fiber Diversity Opens New Doors to Staten Island

OCG Completes 1st of Two New Paths to TELEHOUSE

New York metro's new emerging telecom player, Optical Communications Group, just completed the first of two new diverse dark fiber access routes and entry points into TELEHOUSE Center at The Teleport in Staten Island.

Clients, especially those impacted by government and industry regulations, immediately benefit from more bandwidth diversity coupled with decreased power costs, high-level security and a capacious data center that lends itself to enterprises with large numbers of servers.

Carriers have two distinct points of access to Staten Island's fiber routes outside of The Teleport and the ability to connect clients directly to Manhattan's carrier hotels (25 Broadway, 60 Hudson, and 111 8th) using redundant pathways.

The route is part of a larger plan that will improve significantly The Teleport and TELEHOUSE Center's position within the New York metro area's telecom landscape. It reflects the cooperative efforts of TELEHOUSE, The Port Authority of NY and NJ, OCG and the Staten Island Economic Development Corporation.

WW TELEHOUSE Surfs Hawaii's PTC
The hot action on the floor of this year's PTC had people forgetting the sun and waves outside....OK so I needed a good beginning..... But the turnout was great and proved once again that it is the place to be, especially if you want to do business in the Pac Rim. If you did not get a chance to meet our very own, loquacious sales manager, Fred Cannone, you can reach him via cannone@TELEHOUSE.com. He would love to hear from you.

WW BREAKFAST ON BROADWAY Hits a Home Run in Its First Swing in January
Globix and Invisible Hands Network elicited attendee comments that January's seminar on podcasting was one of the best ever. Those in attendance learned that the user experience is important in podcasting, podcasts offer on-demand access, major corporations have adopted its use, peak download periods are predictable and similar to other content downloads and, lastly, bandwidth is a key profitability factor.

WW New Underground Dark Fiber Net in Metro NY Feb. 15 B ON B'WAY Topic

Catching up on December's Waves .... yep, another one is in the books. Team WSTA nailed it again with another stellar holiday event that brought in the holiday season with style. The only thing missing was the mistletoe. Colleague Peter "Dancing Shoes" Messina had his new Cole Haan's smokin' by night's end. Yours truly seized the moment during the band's fine rendition of Soul Man and did a "not bad" Blues Brothers imitation that had Messina laughing in the aisles the rest of the night. Some of companies represented in capacity crowd were Time Warner Business Services - Bob Kaul, Jim Hickey and Tony Ricciardi; A.G. Edwards - Jim Damone; Alliance Capital - Robert Barth; BONY - Richard Dinan; Astoria Federal Savings -John Roman; Brown Brothers Harriman - John Hillock; BlackRock -Tom Creaven; Citigroup -Tom Collins; Dresdner - Ken Lavin; Deutsche Bank -Lori Ann Reinhard and NYSE - Ron Jordan. Kudos again to Phyllis and the gang for a great event.

The TELEHOUSE team got together at the Staten Island Hilton to celebrate a very successful year. Thanks to our CEO and president, Masahiro Furuya, for putting the event together.
