TELEHOUSE Paris Magny-Les-Hameux Finalizes Operational Procedures

TELEHOUSE Paris’ Magny-Les-Hameux data center, commenced operations in March 2009, and it is the third and largest facility for TELEHOUSE France, operating a total area of 15,000 sq. meters on 66,000 sq. meter of property.

The site offers state-of-the-art security, by occupying a former defense-industry site that has been redeveloped in recent years. Redundant architecture is standard for infrastructure equipment, as power is drawn from multiple generating facilities, in addition to Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) and private-power generating equipment to protect against power outages.

Preventative equipment such as a predictive fire-sensing system is also used. Each rack is supplied with power at a standard 3 kVA and is capable of handling 10 kVA peaks, so recent requirements for high-density power consumption can be accommodated easily.

TELEHOUSE Prepares for Launch of London Docklands West in March 2010

TELEHOUSE Europe will launch its fourth London data center “TELEHOUSE London Docklands West” in March 2010. Serving as the flagship site amongst TELEHOUSE’s London portfolio, it boasts 19,000m2 of technical space spread over nine floors, with five designated tenant floors and a 360 sq. meters dedicated “Meet-Me-Room” area.

Most notably, TELEHOUSE London Docklands West is the United Kingdom’s first purpose-built, “green” data center.  It is also the first major facility to gain planning permission in London since stringent sustainability requirements were written into the City’s legislation. This is due to the Docklands West site being designed to save up to 1,110 tons of CO2 emissions per annum and its ability to transform generated waste heat into energy for the local Docklands community. This marks the first time a heat exportation strategy has been introduced to the United Kingdom for any type of data center facility.
