The Challenge
Headquartered in New York City, Voxel is a pioneer in high performance hosting and Internet solutions with a global IP Network spanning nearly 20 hosting and POP locations throughout the United States, Europe and the Asia Pacific. Voxel has a robust and scalable IP service offering that includes managed hosting, content delivery and cloud computing. Known for its high-performance and rapid scalability for the world's top streaming and media-rich verticals, as well as high traffic websites, Voxel required a highly interconnected peering platform to launch its services. Additionally, Voxel required a provider that could accommodate the stringent environmental requirements to house its network Points of Presence (PoP). The provider also needed to ensure its on-demand services are secure and maintain high availability and network performance. A robust disaster recovery plan was also essential to support Voxel's global network plan.

The Results
Since 2001, TELEHOUSE America has provided Voxel with secure data center and robust peering services. "Voxel's long standing relationship with TELEHOUSE America has been marked by exceptional customer service and technical support," continued Voxel's Zachary Smith. "TELEHOUSE is one of the main data center providers for our core network services and high availability infrastructure. Additionally, it provides strategic disaster recovery options to ensure our network operations are always up and running."

The ability to connect to NYIIX at the 25 Broadway data center provides Voxel with a vital, redundant, low latency Exchange point that fuels its most demanding IP and web- centric customers. It is also a rich carrier neutral interconnection point that is critical in accommodating Voxel's growth and its metro connectivity needs.

With next-generation, global cloud computing services, Voxel needed a reliable and scalable platform to host customer applications, websites, and data communications for clients' primary as well as back-up platforms. The Teleport Center provides the secure infrastructure to accommodate its stringent requirements.

In today's global marketplace, business continuity planning has become mission critical; directly connecting Voxel's 25 Broadway PoP to the SAS 70, Type II Certified Teleport Center via dark fiber was a tremendous benefit to Voxel. The Teleport Center meets the stringent compliance regulations of Voxel's media rich verticals, business and financial clients including N+1 redundancy, numerous 24x7 high security measures, 24x7 on-site security guards, closed-circuit television video surveillance, biometrics and dual perimeter secured zones. Voxel was able to add Teleport Center to its Manhattan dark fiber ring that connects 25 Broadway to other metro carrier hotels.

Overall, Voxel's data communications operations are well supported by TELEHOUSE America. Smart data center engineering and excellent support have made Voxel a long-lasting TELEHOUSE client.
